THE BETTANE & DESSEAUVE GUIDE:

This family domain endowed with very beautiful “terroirs” in VOLNAY and POMMARD, enchanted us with the elegance and the precision of the wine making in 2006, receiving some of our best notes.

The 2007 does not mark considerable progress but the continuation of research, could have led to the barely too early harvest.”

GUIDE HACHETTE:

" A generation of thirty-year old wine growers is taking control in the diverse area of Volnay. Among them, Thomas, son of Jean-Marc Bouley, who adds yet another star to his collection. "

GUIDE DES VINS GAULT MILLAU:

" The Bouley family has been present in Volnay since 1527.
Jean-Marc Bouley has continued to immortalize the family tradition from 1984 by producing rich wines. Twenty five years later, the period of maturity having arrived, he is at the top of his art. The research towards a little more extraction gives concentrated wines with an abrupt finish.
The cellar is going to tame these wines letting them express more generosity.
The Hautes Côtes de Beaune is the lightest. The wines from Volnay are richer, with a  beautiful Caillerets about to hatch. More powerful with a solid framework, Rugiens is massive. "

" The Domain possesses a wide palette of wines from Volnay, but also two beautiful plots of land in Pommard on Rugiens and Fremiers. Wines, which sometimes seem a little bit virile in their youth, evolve very well and give, after some years of cellar, a beautiful expression of their “terroir”. The Domain well apprehended the year 2007, in a rather delicate and silky style. Volnay Clos de la Cave is delicate, with melted tannins. Caillerets is delicious, everything in delicacy, on a big digestibility. More under the influence of the wood, Pommard Fremiers is however endowed with a beautiful concentration; a little firmer, Rugiens seems more complete. "
